The road to Agios Prokopis runs through what used to be a salt-pan, in front of the airport. It is the most popular and (for many people)
most beautiful beach of the island. It protects its visitors from the force of the wind.
So don't warry if the wind is lashing up the waves at
Chora - it is certain to be calm at Agios Prokopis. Especially at
its northern end where a rock completely "shields" the
water from the winds that come from the north. Local transportation
is very often, especially during high season.
