MESI VILLAGE

Village of Mesi  (17766 bytes)

The community of Mesi is a small picturesque and traditional village located at the North-eastern part of the island of Naxos. Most of the approximately 100 inhabitants are emery miners. The village produces high quality wine and a variety of very tasty cheese types.

A monument of great importance is the Byzantine church of Agia Kiriaki, dated back to the 16th century. In the region of Mesi there is a castle and a cave.
