Apiranthos is located centrally in the island of Naxos and it is approximately 26km from the island's capital. Its altitude is 600m and it is considered by most visitors the most beautiful and picturesque village of the island.

The village was built by Cretans who inhabited the island during the 10th century A.C. so one can feel as if actually being in the island of Crete.
