The village of Chalki (Halki) is located in the valley of Tragea in the centre of Naxos. It is perhaps the most fertile area of Naxos with olive groves that cover many square kilometres as well as the "Citron" tree from which the famous liqueur is produced. |

Chalki used to be the capital of the island and is now the administrative centre of the municipality of Drimalia. Apart from the lovely mansion houses and the picturesque churches the village has colourful alleys that give visitors the sense that they are back in time. |
